Silvan Safari Has Reopened – And is Looking Better Than Ever!

So, when a violent thunderstorm wreaked havoc in December, as has always been the case at Silvan Safari, we took nature's lead and decided to take the opportunity to do a little regenerating of our own...

The New-and-Improved Silvan Safari

As guests have come to expect, much like their experiences, everything at Silvan Safari is very particularly curated.

"The little details are what make Silvan Safari truly unique," says owner, designer and interior decorator-in-chief David Ryan. And having painstakingly hand-selected and participated in the design of every element of the recent refurbishments and the birth of Silvan Safari itself, he understands the connection guests create during their stays and how fundamental every tiny element is to forming them.

Reflecting on the refurbishments, Ryan commented: "I'm beyond proud of what the team achieved. I believe that this refreshed and rejuvenated Silvan Safari is every bit as intentional, connected and inspired as when I first dreamed of when walking along the Manyeleti riverbed."

Drawing Inspiration from the Trees

Design and décor at Silvan Safari have always taken inspiration from the spectacular natural surroundings of the Sabi Sand. And those who have spent time in our suites will be familiar with the bursts of colour that characterise each of them and their respective muses.

Now, returning guests can look forward to vibrant new design elements that celebrate the trees which lend their name and beauty to each suite. Restyled room curtains and mosquito nets bring a stylish swish of colour that complements the signature element of each suite's inspiration. Headboards, carpets and wallpaper have also been completely overhauled and bring the soul of Silvan Safari to life in spectacular fashion.

Bespoke Touches True to the Silvan Safari Spirit

Custom Casamento couches adorn each suite with bespoke embroidery that pays tribute to the stars of a Silvan Safari experience. The glamorous European bee-eater is once again a feature throughout Silvan Safari, flashing elegant colours everywhere it's featured. Guests staying in the Leadwood Family Suite can tuck themselves in with an exquisitely embroidered watchful eye over them. Dining chairs have benefitted from the same attention and are functional works of art that sprinkle subtle splendour across the suites.

Any visit to Silvan Safari centres around more than the creatures you'll find, but equally as much about the creature comforts our guests enjoy. New furnishings ensure that guests feel every bit in the lap of luxury as you'd expect at the World's Leading Luxury Lodge. New beds and Mungo linen ensure that guests are cosy and, of course, well-rested during their stay.

Each suite has seen a floor-to-ceiling update to the bathrooms. Fittings, flooring and signature artwork, have all been refreshed, replaced and updated, bringing together a blissful calm atmosphere.

An exciting change has also been made to the exterior of our Tree Wisteria Suite. The deck has been extended and now features a glamorous outdoor bath. This sensational addition will have you soaking up your surroundings as you look over the Manyeleti River in luxurious style.

Walkway into the Wild

Among the more noticeable changes at Silvan Safari is the extension of our walkway. Now, guests staying in Tree Wisteria or Leadwood suites can enjoy a leisurely stroll along a raised boardwalk. In addition, a new circular boardwalk route through the rock garden allows guests to embrace more of their surroundings.
